Manuscript transcription of the Histoire secrette de la Duchesse de Portsmouth, the French translation of the Secret history of the Dutchess of Portsmouth, both of which were originally published in 1690. The volume appears to have been written around 1700.

The library of C.K. Odgen, Great Britain, was purchased for the University of California in 1957. The approximately 74,000 volumes were distributed to various UC campuses, with 6,213 to UC Berkeley. These were distributed in the General Library, including the Moffitt Undergraduate Library and the Rare Books and Special Collections Dept. Kéroualle, Louise-Renée de, Duchess of Portsmouth and Aubigny, 1649-1734

Louise-Renée de Kéroualle was made Duchess of Portsmouth and Aubigny by Charles II, King of England. The Duchess of Portsmouth was one of the king's mistresses. She was born in France and was sometimes considered his Catholic mistress, as opposed to his mistress Nell Gwynne, who considered herself Charles's "Protestant mistress." Charles Lennox was an offspring of her relationship with Charles II. He was created Duke of Richmond in 1675. From the description of [Contract] 1684 Jun....
